Rick Sanchez' Rant

Anyone hear about the rant that got CNN news reporter Rick Sanchez canned? He lashed out at the most unfunny comic I ever heard in my entire life, John Stewart, criticizing other Jews with him. He referred to Atlanta based CNN as controlled by Jews & Northeastern establishment liberals.

Now I personally think anti Semitism got old a long time ago. So what if CNN is controlled by Jews? The Jews got where they did through education & making good use of it. This is a people who dominate in certain professions, like medicine & law, because early Europeans banned them from membership in trade guilds & they more often than not were forced to leave countries they resided, so they had to have work that 1) didn't require membership in a guild, and 2) could be portable, taken elsewhere.

And Rick Sanchez is not the most stellar character himself to be attacking John Stewart. According to wikipedia this is a man, who, around '90, hit a man while drunk & left the scene, returning to the scene later. The man eventually died, paralyzed, in an assisted living facility.

Character aside, he did make some valid points, one being that racism is NOT limited to
conservatives, but Northeastern establishment liberals were just as racist. He is right; I am living among said liberals. They disguise sentiments like "These folks are probably to stupid to learn English, assimilate, and be a part of society" with nonsense like "multiculturalism", and "global village", and "diversity". Offerings in Massachusetts like interpreters in multiple languages for many services is a subtle, sneaky way of ensuring a permanent underclass of citizens to vote "Democratic". As Mr Sanchez felt CNN saw him, as a Hispanic, incapable of being a news anchor, northeastern liberals see people from outside the U S as incapable of being a part of one society & doing anything but the most menial work.

New Englanders have a subtle way of letting people know they're not liked...even groups seen as accepted here, like gays & lesbians. A lesbian colleague mine participated in a charity project dressing up teddy bears for indigent children at Christmas. The group let her know her efforts weren't appreciated by photographing everyone in the group's work but hers. She told me, "Spongebob see if I ever do something like that with them again", as she showed up at our distant workplace on her weekend to participate.

He also had a point about Jews, at least some, portraying themselves as part of an "oppressed minority". Granted, not all of them are wealthy professionals, some are quite working class or even struggling, but unless you're talking Muslim majority countries, where their religion is considered on an inferior status to Islam, I don't think they can be called an oppressed minority. I believe personally, as I have had Jewish friends, that there is too much emphasis on the Holocaust, as if there are no other periods of Jewish history worth studying. I think it's messed up for kids as young as five to visit a Holocaust museum before they've even grasped the one God concept.

I understand CNN...I wouldn't want an unstable, come right out and rant type working for me, either. But IMO the man made some valid points before his departure.
